Visit from the German ambassador
The programme included a meeting with governor Herman Reynders, a lunch with leading business executives and a business visit to Vandersanden Group.
Germany is the most important market and the 2nd most important supplier for Flanders. As a result, the German economy has a huge impact on our economy. The number of German investors in Limburg has decreased in recent years, so it was high time to strengthen the ties with Germany and invite the ambassador to pay a visit to our province.
Ambassador Cuntz is a fervent supporter of a greater collaboration within the Euregio, which was evident from the talks that were held with the governor. But according to contacts, some obstacles still surfaced with a number of prominent companies. For example, certain laws and habits are completely different in Germany (such as packaging, sizes and weights).
Traditionally a visit from an ambassador to the province is concluded with a tour of an innovative and leading manufacturing business in Limburg. This time Vandersanden Group had the honour. Ambassador Cuntz was impressed with the innovative products and solutions proposed by Vandersanden Group.
